A nod to childhood

. . . in Momofuku Milk Bar's Cereal Milk soft serve - with salty frosted flakes topping!!

EVERYONE's been raving about Momofuku's cereal milk ice cream for aaaages.  I felt like I was the only one left on the planet who hadn't tried it yet.  Funny enough, about a year ago, I went to their location on the LES and got a different flavor of soft serve - cause cereal milk sounded to me, well, leftover - DONUT.  Now THAT's an ice cream flavor.  It managed to recreate the fried-cinnamonness of an old fashioned donut.  It was intense.

But that went away mysteriously and all anyone could talk about was this.  So I went.  Apparently, Momofuku Milk Bar's have been popping up like zits on a teenager - there's a new one on in Carroll Gardens, and there's this one on the UWS right by the Natl History Museum,. . . a perfect place for me to take a break while my very last student tour of the season (remember these are post-dated) explored the Hall of Marine Life.

The verdict??  Mmmmm. . . not sure I'm a fan of the cereal milk variety (it DID taste like leftover Frosted Flakes milk), but I'll def keep them on the List, in hopes of seeing Donut ice cream for next year.  :)
