Tradition worth waiting for

Have you heard of the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory?  I'd be surprised if you hadn't.  It's a small-batch ice cream house located in an old 1922 Fireboat house on the Fulton Ferry landing pier, in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge.  It actually hasn't been there all that long - a little over 10 years - but since that time it's been mentioned in the New York Times no less than 7 times, and been hailed as "The Best Ice Cream in New York" by The Sunday Times and Frommer's New York City.

Example A:

That's the line I waited on two weeks ago, at 415pm on a Sunday.  Granted, that IS the best time for ice cream, but I'll guess that's pretty standard for them.  All told it took me 45 minutes for me to have that amazing Strawberry cone in my hand . . . and about 5 minutes more to finish.  Worth it?  You betcha.
